Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are uniquely trained to provide a wide range of anesthesia options for their patients. They are one of the few specialties that join the anesthesia department as a resident and receive direct anesthesia training by attending anesthesiology staff. This training experience allows Dr. Thoman and Dr. Kofford to provide anesthesia for a wide range of medical procedures for patients that ranged from infants to older adults. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons also have a stringent licensing and recertification process that assures maximum safety for their patients.
The range of anesthesia provided by Dr. Thoman and Dr. Kofford and their staff range from simple local anesthesia to Intravenous sedation that will allow an individual to be asleep during the surgical procedure. The doctors are committed to patient safety. They are ACLS and PALS certified and have regular training sessions with their staff to make sure their staff is up to date on anesthesia procedures and emergency protocols.
